Learning Curve

Today, having never bothered to check out what this site looks like on browsers or computer platforms besides those I personally use, it occurred to check it on a few others. Hey, how different could it be, right? To my horror, I was treated to big ugly green boxes, black outlines where none belonged, and a purple border around my banner image. Ack.

So, to anyone that looked at my website on IE 6 and said, “Wow… that’s ugly,” it sure was. Sorry. For those of you that looked at it through Firefox, Mozilla, or Safari and said, “Wow… that’s ugly,” well, I guess I’m out of excuses.

I’m still working the kinks out (especially with an annoying table problem on the photolog side), but I’ll figure it out. Ooof.

Oh yeah- happy Valentine’s Day. Enjoy your commodified love before the bourgeoisie takes it away from you. Just kidding.

  1. My first suggestion is that everyone dump IE and start using Firefox. ‘Tis a superior browser in every way. My second suggestion is to dump tables completely unless you’re using them for tabular data. XHTML and CSS all the way, baby!

    And you’re site looks great.

I agree- anyone still using IE needs to get with it. And if I knew anything about coding, I’d probably agree with you on XHTML, but as it is, I just fumble around with what is already there and make it do what I want. Sometimes, it doesn’t work so well.

And thanks for the compliment. I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to web design, so it’s nice to know that I’ve put something together that doesn’t totally suck.
