For one of my classes this spring, “The Radical Tradition in America,” I had to buy a little book titled The Radical Reader. Basically, it’s 700 pages of primary documents from various organizations and movements, from the Revolutionary War to the present. Among the authors: Thomas Paine, Fredrick Douglass, Marcus Garvey, Mario Savio, and the Weather Underground. We’re reading them all.
I think I’m going to like this class.
